PCB takes back the decision on turning PSL in separate company
LAHORE (NTP) : – After the success of “PSL 2” the chairman of Pakistan cricket board Mr. Najam Sethi decided to make PSL a separate company on March 2017. Which means PCB won’t be involved in PSL anymore whereas the PCB board of governors is not yet ready for this.
The current Law of Pakistan’s securities & exchange commission does not allow any government officials (PCB) to transform any government owned thing to a private brand, but PCB got the hope from finance ministry of Pakistan that the latter were changing laws which will now give authority to the PCB for nominating its officials for PSL.
Taking the changes seriously the PCB chairman Najam Sethi and Shahryar Khan called a meeting, in which they decided to nominate 2 of the officials from PCB and 3 from outside. PCB in past was hoping for the change in Law but sadly, there were no changes in law “Yes, we were hoping for a change in the laws of the SECP but they were not changed because of opposition from different quarters, so, we have now decided to run the PSL ourselves (PCB) instead of making it a separate entity,” said the chairman of PCB talking to the media.
There are reports that there many government projects which are in halfway without the interference of government officials. Till now the board has decided, instead of making PSL a separate company PCB will organize it itself.
