Pakistan Army gets state of the art explosive detector equipment from US
(NTP) US Embassy’s Office of the Defense Representative (ODRP) has delivered more than 50 new Fido X3 explosives detectors.
A unique and sophisticated hand held device named Fido X3 ll allow Pakistani soldiers to find out if the item in focus has explosive or not within 10 seconds only.
This newest range will be added to the previous models available with Pakistan Army currently in use for many counter terrorism operations ongoing throughout Pakistan. This series has already helped in saving many lives.
This device helps in keeping the explosives from going into wrong hands. Pakistan Army gets World Class technology as a favor to combat terrorism, which is the main obstacle in Pakistan’s progress these days.
The main objective in front of counter terrorism dept. is to catch the bomb maker before letting him put this device in position. “This advanced system improves on previous versions used to great effect by the Pakistan Army to safeguard the nation,” said Brigadier General Kenneth Ekman, Chief of the US Embassy’s ODRP, highlighting the US partnership with the Pakistan Army in its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, particularly in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region.
This shipment of Fido devices is part of an ongoing $128 million initiative funded by the US government to assist the Pakistan Army in defeating illegal explosives.
