Biblical Researchers Hunting For Ark Of The Covenant Found Something More Gruesome Instead
I admit that my knowledge of The Bible is not sufficient. But what I understand from it is basically how it went down.
About 3,000 years ago, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, which were basically the rules for life. Then, Moses carved those into a stone and protected them in a gold chest.
Well, a group of researchers based in the US have been looking for that very same golden chest better known as the Ark of the Covenant. If we become more specific, they were actually looking for the place, where it was stored, commonly known as the tabernacle. Some in depth research gives me the clue that tabernacle was where God lived when he came to Earth. Wait, what? I did not know that.
Anyway, as this tabernacle has supposedly gone missing for quite a time now. But these researchers from the foundation of Associates for Biblical Research that is a “Christian apologetics ministry” which attempts to prove the accuracy of The Bible by history. They went out to find as much as possible.
They came to Shiloh, which is in Israel and I guess is where it is believed to located? I am not sure. Anyway, they did some excavations from May 21 to June 17 at the location of an apparently ancient city.
Speaking to local media Dr Scott Stripling, the director of excavations at Shiloh said “We have just begun the process of accumulating evidence but we’re confident that the tabernacle rested at Shiloh”. “The tabernacle was set up at Shiloh in 1400 B.C. – Joshua 18:1 mentions it.” I guess that settles it then.
Question rises what have they found yet? Well, nothing to surprise they’ve found nothing but animal bones. Which Dr Stripling believes may be related to animal sacrifices at that era.
To further inquire about them, they’ve been sent to the ABR’s resident zoo archaeology department. In case the bones match with those of animals, which were mentioned in the Bible, then it’s a bingo maybe the tabernacle is nearby.
Some other items including beetle-shaped carvings, tools, weapons, and loads of pottery were also among those findings there. I guess that could be expected when excavating any ancient city, really.
Anyway, so the Ark remains undiscovered for now. Maybe it’ll turn up in the future. Maybe not.
